6 Tips for optimal bowel movements for your child

The second Wednesday in April is National Poop Day ! 💩
We often laugh about it, but healthy, regular bowel movements are also very important for children. And certainly not something to take for granted. Fiber, like that found in Kindershake , helps with that.
1. Eat fiber-rich food
In the intestines, dietary fiber acts like a natural broom. It ensures the proper and natural removal of food and waste. And fiber promotes a feeling of satiety, keeping your child feeling full for longer. These foods are high in fiber:
- Whole grains (brown bread, quinoa, whole wheat pasta, brown rice);
- Legumes (beans, peas, capuchin beans);
- Vegetables. Less cooked = better (broccoli, carrots, kale, Brussels sprouts);
- Fruit, with skin where possible (apples, pears, berries, oranges);
- Nuts and seeds (almonds, walnuts, linseed, chia seeds);
- Potatoes and tubers, with skin.

2. Supplement with Kindershake
Most children don't eat enough fiber-rich food and therefore need a supplement. One glass of Kindershake provides your child with as much fiber as two whole-grain bread sandwiches. And, of course, a generous helping of vitamins, minerals, protein, and essential fatty acids. The fiber in Kindershake comes from the roots of plants.

Kindershake is a drink and so it counts for the next point:
3. Drink enough
Especially if you eat a high-fiber diet, it's important to drink enough. Water is best, but otherwise (soy) milk is. A glass of Kindershake counts too, of course. :)
- 4 to 13 years : 1 to 1.5 litres per day (4 to 6 glasses);
- 14 years and older : 1.5 to 2 litres per day (6 to 8 glasses).
4. Sufficient exercise
Being active and exercising are always good for a child, but also for their bowel function. They stimulate the movement of food.
5. Don't hold it up
Not giving in to the urge is one of the leading causes of constipation. Teach children from a young age not to hold it in, but to always go to the toilet immediately. No matter how annoying it is to have to interrupt that fun. ;)
6. Avoid stress
Children can also develop physical complaints as a result of stress or tension. Constipation or diarrhea can be the result. So be vigilant and keep a close eye on your child's mental health.
