Breathing exercises
Teach children how to use their breathing to relax and focus.
For example, try the following exercise: While your child is breathing in, he puts his hands on his stomach and pushes his stomach into his hands, thinking that a balloon in his stomach is getting bigger. When your child exhales, the balloon becomes smaller again, because the air is now going out again. Repeat this several times.

Grounding in the present moment
Help children become aware of their current environment and experiences through the five senses. For example, ask your child to look at, feel and smell a shell. Have him or her describe this. For example, coloring in a coloring book also helps your child to be completely in the moment.

Teach children to practice gratitude by naming things that make them happy, such as family, friends, pets, and so on. For example, do this together every morning during breakfast or every evening before going to sleep.
